Saint George's Day (Belated Post)

May 6th was Saint George's Day, a day in which the army is honored. We happened to be downtown that morning and ran into this parade.

Mother's Day Getaway in Borovets (Belated Post)

For Mother's Day this year, Jim booked us an overnight in Borovets. Borovets is in the mountains and is very popular in the winter for skiing and hiking or biking in the summertime. It's about an hour drive from Sofia. We were one of two families in the hotel as spring is the low season. We had the pool to ourselves, which was understandable considering how cold the water was! (Now we know to look for mineral/thermal pools) But as always, this didn't stop our little swimmers from splashing and playing. We checked out the village nearby and enjoyed seeing the signs of spring. It was a wonderful overnight trip and we will definitely go back again soon!

I wonder when these two will be ready for this ski run?

This was part of a playground at a restaurant we lunched at.
I love how many great outdoor spaces there are for kids!

Swing us!

Grateful in Bulgaria

We continue to be incredibly grateful to be living in such a wonderful place. There are so many things that compliment who we are and continue to find new things that bring us joy. What a wonderful move this has been for our nature loving family!

Strawberry and cherry season are here! They are so juicy, but they never last long!

Taking Bryce to school each morning has been so much fun. He loves wearing his dinosaur raincoat and racing us on his balance bike.

There is a mineral pool nearby that we recently discovered. Hot water allows for swimming all year round. It was a first to be able to go swimming on a spring day. Amelia and Bryce couldn't get enough of the little water slide. We will certainly be going back here again soon!

Snorkels for summer have been purchased for these two water lovers! They can't wait to explore the bay. Amelia loved testing her new mask in the bathtub.

Snails are everywhere! We love spotting them and watching their interesting behavior.

Bryce's end of year celebration at preschool was certainly entertaining. Here he is dressed in traditional clothing. He looked so precious! He has been so cared for by the wonderful staff. He is also our Bulgarian translator now, too:)

Bryce with one of his best friends and his teacher. He is holding a certificate for the year.

Waterfalls Canyon...thank goodness the kids still fit in the Ergos because we were able to do a long hike and see so many beautiful waterfalls. We won't have too many more hikes like this as they are really pushing the weight limit.

These two are such great travelers! They love each other so much and have such adventurous spirits.

Bulgarian restaurant along a river, with a playground...life is good!

And there is always plenty of ice cream!
